Book Review: The Way of the River

The Way of the River: Adventures and Meditations of a Woman Martial Artist by B. K. Loren
Amazon link:The Way of the River

If you’re looking for the secrets to the universe, they aren’t in this book. What is in this book is a very touching examination of coming-of-age and self-discovery. Ms. Loren is a very honest writer. It’s easy to sympathize with her throughout her very real situations: her regrets, her joys, her sadness, and her anger. She doesn’t paint herself as some perfect saint. She is a teacher, but she’s also a woman. You won’t find deep philosophical meanderings here, but you will find a touching story, some insights, and some wisdom. I recommend this book.
